    That was absolutely horrific!

The choice of music gave me a bit of giggle I’m afraid though, especially when they reversed it at 3:27.

That poor, poor horse. :( What it must feel like,it hurts to even think about it!

Was it part of a pentathelon? The riding style looks so!

  2. That’s just a spectacular pony-I’m wishing he finds a wonderful home where he isn’t used as a joke bet. There was a horse named Blackie that was forced to swim across the SanFranciso channel with no provisions being made if it cramped or got hypothermia-luckily he made it (all for a dinner bet)He must have had damage because after that was known as the horse who only stood still, like it was such a cute thing. Any how, It’s easy to react to one extreme incident like this but I attended grand prix jumping (evergreen classic) in WA this summer and was very pleased to see fluid riding and comfortable mouths. The winner, Megan Jordan, looked great up and she herself was riding with an injured or broken back.I reviewed video segments and there were some really graceful riders (meaning-with the horse -not against).

I wouldn’t classify this as abuse, more like, idiotic rider. But I guess he’s ignorant in the same way that many dressage riders are. This guy may or may not know that he’s causing his horse back pain (though he’s an idiot and shouldn’t be allowed to ride again if he doesn’t know); and he obviously thinks it’s OK since he appears to be riding at a fairly high level show. As one who has jumped horses before, I would say that this guy’s an idiot and this kicking back of the legs is not the norm (at least, I’ve never seen it before).

a very long 4 minutes, hard to watch. This guy needs help understanding what he is doing to horses – forgive them for they know what they do!!!!!1

What a wonderful and brave horse,,,,who obviously doesn’t have a bad bone in his body. It breaks my heart to be reminded again of how pleasing horses try to be. This rider deserves to be bucked off and trampled on, but something like that would never cross this sweet horse’s mind. Is this rider so incredibly stupid not to realise that this is a terrible way to ride? Well they do say “No sense no feeling” and he obviously does not feel anything. My husband could not even watch this video without wincing with pain every time the guy jumped!

Although awful to watch, I hesitate to call this “abuse.” If this guy were out jumping this horse in this manner every day, that would make it a different matter entirely. While I don’t agree with or see the “fun” in it for the horse, he doesn’t seem to be any worse for the wear after the one round in spite of the thumping his back took. He wasn’t showing any signs of discomfort or distress throughout– no tail swishing, no bucking, no lashing out with his hind legs over the fences– and he went willingly to all fences but the one with attentive, alert, listening ears.

    This person cannot ride, period!
What an amazing, forgiving horse. It deserves a better owner.
What are the coaches and trainers doing here? Maybe this person has never had one !!!

  10. Maureen Wallace says:

This so-called rider should get a job in the circus. He doesn’t belong in the equestrian world of sport. The abuse of this horse is mind boggling.

  11. Petra Z. McGowan says:

isn’t this mind-boggling? i cannot believe how talented and forgiving animal this horse is – he went almost clear with such a rider…this rider should be forbidden to ever show his abusive most peculiar junmping form in any showjumping ring

  12. Is this a professional polo player having “fun” trying to be in a jumping event?

  13. This is incredible horrible, can any one tell what jumping event this was?
